Where Compassion Meets Action for Animals
AWLAC enhances animal welfare in Aransas County by funding critical programs and resources not covered by municipal budgets. Working collaboratively with Aransas County Animal Care, the organization supports targeted, impact-driven initiatives that improve operational efficiency, expand access to care, and produce measurable outcomes for animals and the community.
Campaign Two:
No and Low-Cost Vaccination Clinics
Our goal for 2025 is to secure funds for target area vaccine clinics. We understand many pet owners love their pets but many in our community struggle with cost for basic vaccinations.
AWLAC believes vaccine clinics are crucial to the health of our animal community. Highly contagious illnesses such as Rabies, Parvo, Bordetella and FeLV can spread out of control and prove to be not only expensive to treat but in many cases the illnesses can be lethal.
Our clinics would provide not only vaccination services but also microchipping and county mandated registration to pets of low to moderate income households. In many cases, Pet owners who currently receive governmental assistance can qualify for No-Cost services. Those who do not meet the income threshold will still enjoy the same vaccination service for a very reduced fee.
Campaign Three:
Shelter Assistance Fund
The Animal Welfare League of Aransas County (AWLAC) is proud to support the daily operations of Aransas County Animal Care through our Shelter Support Fund. This initiative provides funding for essential supplies and materials that fall outside of the facility’s operating budget but are critical to maintaining efficient workflow and quality care for the animals. From equipment and enrichment items to everyday necessities, these resources help staff work more effectively and improve outcomes for the pets in their care. Your donation directly supports these needs, ensuring that the shelter can continue to operate smoothly while providing compassionate, high-quality care to every animal that comes through its doors.
Companion Pet Assistance Fund
This is a referral-based program designed to assist our local animal shelter with non-budgeted services pertaining to pet owners in need. At times, our ACO’s have been faced with the desire to help a pet owner with an extenuating circumstance, but funds are not available. The situation may be as simple as supplying a pet owner with a pet retention system for their escape artist, covering the cost of vet visit or emergency food assistance. Our Companion Pet Assistance Fund is designed to help responsible pet owners in need and offset some of those expenses when unforeseen circumstances occur.
Utilization of this fund is performed on a case-by-case basis through referral of collaborating agencies.
Campaign One:
What Sets Us Apart
Focused on Closing Gaps
AWLAC targets critical needs that are not covered by county budgets, ensuring essential supplies, services, and programs are funded when and where they’re needed most.
Collaborative, Not Duplicative
We work alongside Aransas County Animal Care and the community to support and enhance existing efforts rather than replacing or competing with them.
Impact-Driven Support
Every dollar is directed toward practical solutions such as vaccine clinics, medical care, and shelter improvements to create measurable results for animals and the community.
